GRADE A OR GRADE C
The grade of the teak wood is the most important factor to get good quality on purchasing teak garden furniture.
There are some sellers who sell grade C teak garden furniture besides grade A. And they often saying it is grade A hoping you will not know the difference. Not only the price, grade A and grade C is particularly different in quality.
This is how to determine the different grades of teak wood. Read this carefully before you purchase your garden furniture.
GRADE A:
The grade A garden furniture is the best quality of wood and it is made using the center of the tree plantation; the heartwood. The first thing you have to know is the appearance of teak wood. Heartwood is dark golden-brown to dark golden-yellow to rich brown in color with darker chocolate-colored brown streaks. The wood should normally has uniform color. There is no sap wood, no knots and no black or water grain. It has a close-grained hardwood with high natural oil and rubber content. This grade used to produce from trees which are 30-50 years old but at the time this grade is produced from the trees which are 20-40 years old. That is why the price of grade A now is cheaper than 10-15 years ago. This is the standard grade for garden furniture.
GRADE C:
This is the lower grade of wood, some buyers consider to buy this grade since the price is cheaper. Grade C allow using sapwood which is softer than heartwood. The wood usually contains variations in color, with dark and light streaks. Manufacturer does chemically treatment to make it uniform in color. Grade C has reasonable quality and affordable price. We recommend you to buy this grade for accessories product such as lantern, dustbin or trolley and for indoor use furniture.
